Permits in Chandler

In Chandler, permits go through the City's Development Services Department (215 E. Buffalo Street, 480-782-3000). Cabinets, countertops, tile and other finish work are exempt, but cutting into walls, moving load-bearing supports, or changing plumbing, gas or wiring needs a permit and inspections. We handle that paperwork as part of the job.

When a kitchen remodel needs a permit, Chandler also requires working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in the home, and new countertop outlets are GFCI-protected and spaced so no point along the counter is more than 24 inches from one. If your home is in an HOA, Chandler asks for HOA approval before you apply for the permit.
